The time has finally come. Thursday evening, July 8th, 2021 will kick off with Field Fest in downtown Bluefield, Virginia as well as the once in a lifetime tandem Grand Opening of The Grind Bluefield and The Lady Project Salon & Academy. We look forward to music, downtown fun and a grand opening for the ages on Thursday, July 8th between 5:00 and 6:00p.m. Following field fest and the dual grand opening event, The Grind will host an all day family-friendly event in downtown Bluefield, Virginia on Saturday, July 10th, 2021 beginning at 10:00a.m.

Kicking off Saturday with a “Coffee with Cops” event to begin the day, The Grind will have Spring street and both adjoining parking lots shut down. The parking lot attached to The Grind will be made available to state & local police including Virginia State Police, Town of Bluefield Police, Tazewell Police and more as we partner with the agencies to open the door to positive communication and community interaction with our police agencies. Customers who interact with police and gain their signature on our custom cards will have the opportunity to earn a discount at The Grind during the course of the day’s events on their drink purchases. “I think this is the perfect opportunity to fulfill our long time promise to Bluefield that we aren’t just going to plant a flag and leave, we aren’t just here for our bottom line, we’re here to make an impact, serve our community and make a dramatic difference” say’s Collin O’Donnell, founder of The Grind, “this is what it’s all about, this is what we are here for…We don’t accept the national [narrative] that communities can’t come together in a positive light to be with one another, this event will prove we can communicate, be with, and love one another as communities should”.

Continuing on with the fun, The Grind will host a car show downtown in partnership with Classic Cars of downtown Bluefield until 4p.m. During the course of the day in partnership with the Virginia State Police, The Grind will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a Bluefield College criminal justice student. “We’re making downtown a place for families to enjoy themselves and are removing the stigma that you have to travel a distance to enjoy the weekend, we want to become part of the staple that allows people to enjoy their weekend right here in Downtown Bluefield” O’Donnell said “We believe in community, we believe in one another and we believe any thing is possible, The Grind never stops”.

If you are interested in registering your car for the car show, registration will begin Tuesday, June 29th at 7a.m. and is free. You can register at The Grinds downtown Bluefield Location at 103 Spring Street across from New Graham Pharmacy, or by emailing thegrindbluefield@gmail.com; vehicle spots reserved for the car show are plentiful but expected to fill up quick, so ensure you do so fast! We look forward to seeing you downtown on Thursday, July 8th for the Grand opening and Saturday July 10th for coffee with cops and a car show.
